About these terms
These terms are between you and Exotic Expo Hub ("we", "us"). These terms apply to everyone who uses the site. By using it, or by creating an account, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Show listings
Exotic Expo Hub is a free directory of reptile, exotic pet, bird, poultry, small animal, aquarium and plant expos. We gather dates from organizers' own websites, calendars and announcements, and organizers can manage their own listings.
We don't run, sponsor or endorse the shows we list (unless a listing says otherwise), and we aren't responsible for them. Dates, venues, hours, prices and other details can change or be wrong. Always confirm with the organizer before you travel or buy tickets. Anything you buy at or for a show, including animals, plants and tickets, is between you and the organizer or seller. Check the laws where you live before buying an animal or plant: some species need permits or are banned in some states.
Spot a mistake? Tell us and we'll fix it.
Accounts
You must be at least 13 to create an account, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to list an expo or buy a sponsorship. Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Organizers
By listing or claiming an expo you confirm that you run it or are authorized to act for the people who do. We review claims and new expos before they go live and may ask for proof. We may decline, pause or remove a listing or an organizer account, for example if a claim turns out to be false or the information is misleading.
Keep your dates current. Mark shows cancelled when they're called off, so nobody drives to an empty hall. Changes you make yourself take priority over anything our crawler finds.
If you'd rather your expo weren't listed at all, ask us and we'll take it down.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you add, such as expo descriptions, logos, banner images, dates and links. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, copy, resize and share that content on the site, in its calendar and RSS feeds, and in our show emails, for as long as it's on the site and for a reasonable time after you remove it (for example, in backups).
Only add content you have the right to use, that's accurate, and that doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights. We may edit content for formatting or remove it at our discretion.
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, contact us with the page address, the work you own and your contact details, and we'll review it promptly.
Sponsorships
- Sponsorships place your expo in the carousel on the Shows page. The price and billing period are shown before you pay.
- Sponsorships renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Stripe processes payments, and taxes may be added where they apply.
- You can cancel any time from your expo's Sponsorship tab. Your slide stays up until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Payments aren't refundable for a partly used period, except where the law requires a refund or we end a sponsorship without cause, in which case we'll refund the unused part.
- If a payment fails, we may pause your slide until it's resolved.
- Sponsor slides must be about a real expo and follow the rules below. We may decline or remove a slide that doesn't, and we'll refund any unused part if we do.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The change takes effect at your next renewal, so you have time to cancel first.
Sponsorship doesn't change where your dates appear in search results or listings, and it isn't an endorsement by us.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- add false, misleading or spam listings, or claim an expo you don't run;
- post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or that infringes others' rights;
- advertise the sale of animals or plants that are illegal to sell or transport;
- try to break, overload or get around the site's security, rate limits or captchas;
- scrape or copy the site in bulk, or use automated tools to sign up or send messages, without our written permission. The calendar and RSS feeds are provided for personal and organizer use;
- use the site to collect information about other users or to send unsolicited messages.
Our content
The site's design, code, logo and the way we compile and present listings belong to us or our licensors. Facts like show dates aren't anyone's property, and you're welcome to share links to listings. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, and some icons are from Font Awesome, used under their licenses.
Other websites
Listings link to organizers' websites, ticket sellers and other sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, policies or what they sell.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, or that it is fit for a particular purpose.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, travel costs or lost data, arising from your use of the site or any show listed on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
If you're an organizer or sponsor and your content or listing causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Ending access
You can stop using the site at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as the content license for backups, disclaimers and limits on liability, still apply afterwards.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where we're based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to do so later.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll email account holders before they take effect. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
